Foden has ´cemented himself as one of Man City´s greats´, says Ferdinand

Phil Foden cemented his place as a Manchester City great after his two goals helped the club to a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title, according to former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.

Pep Guardiola s side made history as they maintained their grip on the Premier League trophy following a 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the season.

Foden recently named the division s Player of the Year played another starring role for the Citizens with a brace, including a 25-yard thunderbolt after just 78 seconds, while Rodri s second-half strike completed the victory.

Ferdinand, who won three consecutive Premier League titles with United between 2007 and 2009, believes the attacking midfielder has joined a panth…

Maxi Gomez insists Valencia spirit is strong despite turbulent start to 2019-20

Maxi Gomez insists there is a strong spirit within the Valencia squad despite a turbulent few weeks at Mestalla.

The positivity of last season, when Valencia secured a Champions League spot before beating Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, has mostly evaporated in the early weeks of 2019-20.

Head coach Marcelino was sacked last month and replaced by Albert Celades, who lost his first match in charge 5-2 away to Barca in LaLiga.

Marcelino suggested he lost his job partly because he won the Copa, a competition he claimed the club s hierarchy considered a distraction from fighting for a Champions League place.

Valencia started their European campaign with a 1-0 win at Chelsea but were dispatched 3-0 at home to Ajax this week on matchday two, meaning they h…

Euro 2016 provides €1.2bn boost to French economy

The French economy was boosted to the tune of more than €1.2billion as the country reaped the benefits of hosting Euro 2016.

And a report undertaken jointly by the Limoges-based Centre for Sports Law and Economy (CDES) and the KENEO agency has found that the impact of officials and participating teams, combined with 613,000 visitors, poured €1.22bn into the French coffers.

There is no doubt that hosting a UEFA Euro is a massive financial benefit to any region, said CEO of UEFA Events SA, Martin Kallen, who was also the tournament director for Euro 2016.

Fiorentina 2-1 Milan: Gudmundsson seals win after De Gea penalty heroics

David de Gea saved two penalties for Fiorentina, setting the stage for Albert Gudmundsson to score the winner in a 2-1 victory over Milan.

In a pulsating encounter that saw three missed penalties and two red cards, Fiorentina prevailed to halt Paulo Fonseca s Serie A winning run.

The hosts had the first spot-kick of the game, with Moise Kean s tame effort being kept out by Mike Maignan before the forward had a goal disallowed for offside.

Former Milan midfielder Yacine Adli did break the deadlock soon after, ricocheting a low shot in off the far post from the edge of the box, and De Gea kept them ahead at the break, superbly denying Theo Hernandez from the spot.

Kean had a second goal chalked off for offside in the second half and Milan wasted another g…

Mourinho rages at officials after Milan defeat, reveals he turned down Rossoneri job in 2019

Roma boss Jose Mourinho raged at the performance of his side and the officials after a 3-1 loss to Milan at San Siro, before revealing he turned down the opportunity to manage the Rossoneri in 2019.

Roma were 2-0 down inside a dismal opening 15 minutes, while a shambolic end to the match saw their defenders Rick Karsdorp and Gianluca Mancini sent off.

Mourinho, while furious at the nature of Roma s collapse, also sought to apportion blame to the officials, who awarded Milan two penalties. The first was scored by Olivier Giroud, while the latter saw Rui Patricio save from substitute Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The quality of the performance was not good,  Mourinho said. We gave away the ball so easily, our performance level was so low, but we were still in the …

The Pittsburgh Steelers are fresh off a bye week and flying to the West Coast to face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Despite struggling to move the ball on offense, the Steelers are 3-2 and will aim to upset a Rams squad that is 3-3 and coming off a lopsided victory vs. the Cardinals.

Best NFL Touchdown Props for Wild Card: Put Faith in Godwin vs Eagles

Everything is on the line this weekend and with injuries and weather reports affecting a lot of possible NFL odds production, it’s important to take some time with your anytime TD bets. It’s not just about finding the highest probable plane-breakers, it’s also about finding what’s not priced in and getting the best number week after week all the way until the Super Bowl odds are decided.

For the Wild Card odds, I’m taking a bit of risk with a backup TE who is returning to the lineup while the starter is hopefully out, backing the better value in Tampa with a receiver, and taking the value that the spread and weather are giving me in Buffalo.

Here are my three best NFL picks for the Wild Card TD props.
